FAQs—What You Need to Know

  • How long does the average concrete flatwork project take?

Most jobs take 2–5 days, depending on the size and layout. Weather can also play a role.

  • What kind of prep do I need to do before the job starts?

We’ll handle most of the prep, including digging and forming. We just ask that the area be cleared of personal items or obstacles.

  • Do you use anything other than concrete?

No. We work only with concrete because it gives the longest-lasting, most reliable results for flatwork.

  • Can I walk or park on it right away?

You can walk on it after 24–48 hours. Wait at least a week before driving on it.

Pro Tips—Make Your Concrete Work Harder for You

1. Don’t skip the sealant.

Sealing your concrete after it cures helps prevent cracks, stains, and surface wear. It’s a simple step that adds years to your flatwork.

2. Clear snow with plastic, not metal.

Metal shovels can scrape and chip the surface. Stick with plastic to keep your concrete looking clean.

5. Know when to reseal.

Plan to reseal every 2–3 years, depending on sun exposure and wear. This keeps your concrete protected and looking fresh.

3. Avoid de-icing salts.

Salt eats into concrete over time. Sand works just as well for traction and won’t cause long-term damage.

4. Watch your drainage.

Keep downspouts and sprinklers pointed away. Water pooling around the edges can cause soil erosion and slab shifting.
